Loreley Arvizu

Loreley Arvizu joined Beyond Legal Aid shortly after the New Year in 2022.

Born and raised in the Little Village area, Loreley began her career as a paralegal after graduating from Robert Morris University in 2014 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a focus in the law office. Loreley grew up listening to her father’s stories which included his contributions to the Little Village area, mostly his insights about communities, like his, that lacked special programs, legal resources and advocacy for the underrepresented in the early 1970s and late 1980s. The programs that did exist were always in danger of being cut by administration not only that, but also a lack of access to legal resources. The same issues resonate today, which fuels the eager she feels to create awareness of those issues and to serve as a support to change this from the root.

After graduating from RMU, she had the opportunity to work with private law firms in the areas of immigration, family law, personal injury, criminal and worker’s compensation. In these roles, she participated in helping individuals complete applications, served as an interpreter for individuals at interviews and meetings, including, but not limited to, gathering documents and researching information in support of cases; providing case status, next step instructions, and more importantly she was someone to trust and confide in, knowing that she could understand the gravity of situations they were facing. Knowing firsthand how these situations can affect families, friends and ultimately the community. Loreley believes in helping others and being someone that genuinely cares.

She is excited for her new journey  alongside Beyond Legal Aid, and passionately looks forward to supporting community members, partners, and colleagues especially those directly related or impacted to achieve socioeconomic and systemic change in all communities

A mother of 2 boys, she loves to bond with her baby and cook. She enjoys to read and learn new recipes and  hopes to take up drawing and writing soon and would like to eventually travel abroad to experience different cultures and their delicious food.
